Black Friday shoppers may have flocked to the malls, but not all of them rushed into making a buy.
Many shoppers told News 2 this year the purchases are carefully calculated. They blame the economy for causing them to scale back this year's shopping.
Some shoppers said they had to change their priorities, counting large trips as Christmas presents, and reevaluating who to put on the Christmas list.
Some families pooled the money together to make sure kids could get the things on their wish lists.
But the economy definitely didn't stop people from getting out to the malls and checking out deals.
