Bigger impact from "Giving Tuesday"
WASHINGTON- There was a huge increase in charitable donations on what is known as "Giving Tuesday" that's in its third year.
Nearly $46 million was raised for charity nationwide this year, a 63 percent increase over its first year. Last year, about $28 million was raised and about $13.5 million in the first "Giving Tuesday" in 2012.
There were more than 296,000 contributions made according to research from Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the Case Foundation.
