Big MegaMillion, Powerball jackpots boosting sales
BATON ROUGE - While Powerball fever is again driving people to buy lottery tickets before Saturday's drawing, another jackpot is being drawn tonight.
The MegaMillions jackpot increased to $190 million recently, paying out $140 million if the winner chooses the cash option.
That's dwarfed by Powerball's $550 million jackpot, which got a boost in ticket sales recently from California's recent decision to join the lottery. It's one of the largest in the lottery's history, paying out $350.1 million for the cash option.
