Friday morning Big Ben will lead a toll of bells across London for three minutes to celebrate the first day of the Olympic Games. It will sound bonkers from 8:12 to 8:15 a.m. as part of the arts festival that accompanies the games. Olympic organizers say it'll be the first time Big Ben chimes outside its regular schedule since 1952 when it tolled 56 times for the funeral of King George VI, once for each year of his life. People across England are encouraged to participate by ringing a bell or an app created by organizers for the occasion.
