Bellue's serving up essentials for Thanksgiving feast
BATON ROUGE - For folks who aren't kitchen savvy or maybe don't want to tackle the task of cooking this Thanksgiving, Bellue's Fine Cajun Cuisine has the solution.
You can have turkey, ham and all the fixing's ready to serve in under 30 minutes. Bellue's offers multiple entrees and 16 different sides, already cooked and vacuum sealed. Owner Wirt Bellue says all you have to do is put the bags in hot water.
"Take your turkey, take your cornbread dressing, take your other side dishes... get your water hot, take your basket as you would do in boiling crawfish, drop your sealed bags down in the water and after 15-20 minutes it's hot, pull it up, cut the bag open, put it on the plate. It's as simple as that," he said.
People we spoke with today say they're glad they have the option to get everything they need for Thanksgiving while saving time and money.
"That's the key, save that time in the kitchen and have really good food to eat," said Tracy Frazier. "A lot more cost effective, I didn't have to buy the oil and all the stuff to do it with, so this made it a lot easier and a lot faster."
"A whole lot easier to do it that away than the way my wife does it, cause I mean it takes a while for her to get it all cooked up," said Buddy Pace.
