Bell's Solo HR lifts No. 1 LSU to 1-0 victory over Oklahoma
BATON ROUGE - Pitcher duels haven't been a usual sight at Tiger Park this year. As the Lady Tigers have outscored opponents 167-23 at home this year.
But through 7 innings, LSU's Carley Hoover and Oklahoma's Paige Parker allowed the scoreboard to light up with all 0's. That is until Bianka Bell said enough is enough.
The junior in the 8th, knocking a solo home run to left field to give the #1 Tigers the 1-0 victory over the #6 Sooners.
For Bell, that was her 10th home run of the season, which is 2nd on the team.
Hoover pitching a 2-hit shutout against the Sooners, striking out 5 in the process.
LSU advances to 29-1, while Oklahoma falls to 24-4. First pitch of game two is set for 6 p.m. Saturday.
