BATON ROUGE- After two decades, the tens of thousands of bees living in Ruby James' home are getting an eviction notice in the form of a good Samaritan.

Jack Lithgoe, the president of the Capital Area Beekeepers club, volunteered to help remove the bees from the home after he heard about the problem.

James has lived with the insects in her walls for more than 20 years and Lithgoe wanted to put an end to the buzz.

"There could be 100,000 bees or more, there could be 60 to 80,000 per colony of bees and there may be three or four colonies in that house," said Lithgoe, "if they've been in there for 20 years they've expanding quite a lot and there could be a whole lot of bees."

District 7 Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle will also step in with donations from Lowe's and volunteers to help repair the walls damaged by the bees.

"I really never asked for anyone to come out and help, but I know there's a lot of good people in the world too," said James.

Lithgoe says he'll wait for the weather to dry out and then hopes to recruit some fellow bee enthusiast to humanely remove the bees.
