Beekeeping ban lifted in Hammond

HAMMOND- For the first time in more than 50 years, residents of this Tangipahoa Parish city will be allowed to raise honeybees in their back yards.
Reportedly the City Council voted unanimously this past week to allow beekeeping within city limits.
There are some restrictions, as outlined in a model beekeeping ordinance that's accepted across the state.
