Becoming hotter with scattered storms today
We start the new work week off with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and some showers along the coast. It is warm and muggy with temperatures in the 70s.
We will still have to dodge some rain and storms this afternoon thanks to an easterly wave moving from Florida across the Northern Gulf of Mexico Coast. This will give us scattered showers and thunderstorms with the daytime heating and with the sea breeze. Some of the storms could become strong with heavy rain at times. It will be hotter today since we will see more sunshine and high temperatures will be in the lower 90s.
The showers and storms will taper off tonight and we will be left with some lingering clouds. It will stay muggy with lows in the mid 70s.
