BATON ROUGE - He graduated in 2003, and in ten short(depending upon who you ask) years Mark Cascio is back as Catholic High's boys basketball coach.

"Just being back here in a different role has been pretty special," said the former Christian Life Academy coach. "I've kept up with Catholic High and kept this program in mind. I got in coaching to coach this team."

Cascio guided CLA to a state title in 2012 and a semifinal finish in 2013(losing to eventual state champion Metairie Park Country Day), and he's hoping to bring that success back to his alma mater.

"We just have to build the culture every day. We haven't been very good the past few years so we have to instill that toughness, that championship mindset."
