BBB announces 2014 Torch ethics award winners
BATON ROUGE - The Better Business Bureau of South Central Louisiana announced the winners of the 2014 Douglas Manship, Sr. Torch Award for Ethics in Business on Wednesday.
This year's winners are the SRS Wealth Management Group, Bozeman Distributors, the Louisiana Workers Compensation Corporation and the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
Since 2001, the Manship Award has been bestowed upon businesses every year that rise above the competition while upholding the highest regard for ethical standards. The independent panel of judges in charge of the selection process identify business entities that practice exemplary treatment of everyone involved in the day-to-day operations of their industrial practices including customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and the community as a whole.
The 2014 recipients of the award will be recognized at the 14th Annual Torch Awards Banquet on Oct. 14 at the L'Auberge Casino & Hotel in Baton Rouge with LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri as featured speaker. During the event, the BBB will also present its fifth annual scholarship to a high school senior selected from among his or her peers for displaying qualities promoted by the Manship Award.
For more information about the banquet, please contact the BBB office at (225) 346-8343.
