BAYOU SORREL- All weekend boats tore up and down the bayou in Iberville Parish toting everything from four-wheelers to mattresses up to higher ground. Folks with camps on Bayou Sorrel think possible flood waters could eclipse the roofs of most homes there and they're not taking the news lightly.
"Tearing all the stuff out of the camp and trying to get it back home; four wheelers, and bikes and air conditions, and lumber and tanks and tying everything down and just working," said Joseph Salvadras as he unloaded a four-wheeler from his aluminum boat.
It's something that has many residents emotional over the prospect of losing their camps.
"I think it's all gonna be destroyed, there's not gonna be really anything worth saving, gonna have to start all over," said Cherie Johnson, who was clearing out her camp with her children.
The folks on Bayou Sorrel are trying to clear out what they can before Tuesday, but think the heavy waters may not come until Thursday.
