BAYOU L'OURSE- Deputies in Assumption Parish arrested a teen accused in a string of burglaries.
Michael Dupre, 17, was arrested Sunday after a resident reported seeing him in her yard holding several items.
Deputies arrived and learned that someone had entered the resident's outdoor shed and stole several hundred feet of welding leads, industrial extension cords and industrial air hoses along with other smaller items.
Deputies located all of the stolen items at Dupre's residence. Detectives questioned the suspect who later confessed to the burglary.
During questioning, Dupre admitted to other crimes in other jurisdictions.
Dupre has been charged with simple burglary, theft over $500, and criminal trespassing. He is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he is awaiting his bond to be set.
