BAYOU CORNE - A 25-foot-section of the sinkhole in Assumption Parish collapsed overnight, the second time this week that's happened.

Tonight, residents are holding a community meeting to get answers to what's causing all these incidents, However, parish officials said they won't be at the meeting because there aren't any new developments to give residents.

"There are no updates. There's a lot of information we hope to gather in the next few weeks, as well as preparing that data. It's going to take some time to do," said John Boudreaux, director of the parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Development.

Sometime late tomorrow, a drill is expected to enter an underground salt cavern which some believe is the cause of the sinkhole.

Residents today said they just want to be informed of what's going on.

"It's been four weeks and that's just extremely too long," said John Achee, who organized the meeting. "Residents deserve a meeting once a week."

Achee said they're bringing in outside scientists to answer questions for residents.
