BAYOU CORNE - Texas Brine, the company which owns land in Assumption Parish where a sinkhole appeared a few weeks ago, put off assistance check distribution this week by a day.
Residents elligible to receive the assistance checks can pick them up tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part.
Check were delayed by a day because of Hurricane Isaac.
Residents in the Bayou Corne area were forced from their homes after the development of a massive sinkhole. Under the law Texas Brine is suppose to give out checks every week once the mandatory evacuations went info effect.
