Woman accused of threatening officer during drug arrest
BATON ROUGE – Police charged a Baton Rouge woman with battery and intimidating a police officer after her arrest on drug charges Wednesday.
Baton Rouge Police said 34-year-old Monica Hatch hit an officer and said she would have his job and badge after she was arrested for marijuana possession.
Investigators said they were originally following up on a tip about drug trafficking at 1115 North 35th St. when they made contact with Hatch. Detectives said Hatch denied trafficking drugs but said she had a small amount of marijuana for personal use. Police said Hatch removed two bags of marijuana from her bra and gave it to police. She was then placed under arrest.
While being transported, police said Hatch hit the officer’s arm and said she would have his job and badge.
