Baton Rouge Toy Chest holding fundaiser at Lava Cantina for delivery van
BATON ROUGE - It's always important to help out the less fortunate, especially around the holidays. Today Mylisha Robinson and Igor Matkovic from the Baton Rouge Toy Chest stopped by 2une in to talk about what they do to give back to the needy.
The Baton Rouge branch is one of three Toy Chest organizations, with the other two being in New Orleans and Lafayette.
"We come together and get donations for different toys, and we can supply those to families in need," Robinson told News 2's Kylie Dixon this morning. "It's tremendous to see little kids smile and to know that smile possibly wouldn't be there if we didn't help out."
The Baton Rouge Toy Chest is currently trying to raise enough money to buy a van.
"For those who don't have a car, we'll be able to go to their house and deliver the toys," Matkovic explained.
On Monday March 16th, the group will be holding a fundraiser at Lava Cantina. To contribute to their van fund you can go to Lava Cantina during the fundraiser and mention The Baton Rouge Toy Chest when you order to donate 15% of your bill to the organization's van fund.
