Baton Rouge to shelter evacuees with special needs
BATON ROUGE - Officials at LSU prepared their indoor track facility today to shelter any evacuees with medical or special needs.
Workers said the shelter opened last night and will stay open as long as its needed.
The shelter has around 300 beds and pallets of MREs and other supplies ready for any evacuees who need to use it. Doctors and nurses are also on standy, and LSU Police as well as the National Guard are assisting.
