Baton Rouge teen has hopes of going to Mars
BATON ROUGE- A teenager in Baton Rouge is on a mission to go to Mars.
Alyssa Carson is 13 and goes to the Baton Rouge International School.
She enjoys playing music and sports just like your average teenager. But her biggest passion is outer space.
Since she's been a child, Carson has had a love for the universe and exploring.
"A sun can mean a solar system, which can mean a planet, which can mean living life...and you don't know what's out there and I just want to explore."
Carson recently came back from Mars Exploration Rovers, a panel discussion in Washington, D.C. that discussed future missions to Mars.
Her next step in her goal is to travel to Greece this summer where she will be a guest speaker at another conference where scientists will be present.
