Baton Rouge teen arrested for bringing ammo to school
BATON ROUGE - A Broadmoor High School student was arrested this morning after being caught with ammunition at school, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.
According to Sheriff's Office spokesperson Casey Hicks, a teacher found the ammo in the 16-year-old 11th grader's bag and alerted authorities.
Hicks said the student cooperated with sheriff's deputies, even taking them to the gun the ammo went to at his home.
The student was booked into Juvenile Detention on charges of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon by a Student on School Property, and Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile.
