BATON ROUGE – Police say an 18-year-old was arrested Friday afternoon after they say he was seen walking around campus with a gun.

Baton Rouge Police say officers at Capitol High School saw Hakiem Josef Clark and 3 other men walking on the sidewalk near the front of the school around 2:45 p.m.

Police say one officer approached the group and asked them to leave the campus.

According to BRPD, a teacher contacted the officer and said that Clark was seen pulling out a gun and said, “It is going down today.”

The officer said he found the group walking near a bus loading area where other students were present. When the officer made contact with Clark, Police said he began cursing and grabbed his front pockets, prompting the officer to draw his weapon.

Police said they searched Clark and found a large black revolver hidden inside his lower pant leg.

Clark was placed under arrest and was transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish. BRPD charged Clark with illegal carrying of a weapon and carrying a gun in a firearm free zone.
