Baton Rouge schools lead the state in National Merit semi-finalists

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System announced Wednesday the district led the state in the number of semi-finalists for the 55th annual National Merit Scholarship Program with 18 students from Baton Rouge Magnet and McKinley High Schools. One of the semifinalists, Jesse Tan, made a perfect score of 36 on the American College Testing or ACT exam. Finalists will be announced in the spring of 2010.
