Baton Rouge Regional in Extended Weather Delay
BATON ROUGE - The Baton Rouge regional is currently in an extended rain delay.
The first game of the day between Southeastern and Rice was brought to a halt by lightning, as the Owls lead the Lions 4-1 in the top of the 7th. The two teams weren't sent back to their hotels, as more severe weather is expected to enter the area. All games must go 9 innings, according to the NCAA host site manual.
As of now, the rest of the scheduled games are to go on as planned. Game two will be between Utah Valley and the loser of SLU-Rice, while game three will feature LSU and the winner of SLU-Rice.
