Baton Rouge Police officer arrested, accused of battery by strangulation
BATON ROUGE - Police said an officer was booked into jail Wednesday on charges of domestic abuse by strangulation.
The officer was identified as Melvin Cosey, 33. A spokesperson said in a news release, Cosey had two separate altercations with his wife at their home on October 15th and 17th. Each time, the altercation ended in physical abuse, the department said.
Cosey has been on the force for two years. He was put on administrative leave with pay pending an internal investigation.
