BRPD investigates hit and run
BATON ROUGE - Police said a cyclist is in critical condition today after a hit-and-run collision in Baton Rouge.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said it happened last night around 6:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of Convention Street.
McKneely said the rider was hit after the driver of a Volvo failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with North 19th Street. The Volvo then fled west on Convention Street.
The cyclist was taken to a local hospital, and police are asking anyone with information about the driver involved in the wreck to call the Traffic Homicide Division at (225) 389-7819.
