BATON ROUGE- The pastor at New Harmony Baptist Church spoke exclusively to News 2 Wednesday, just hours after his release from jail on a aggravated rape charge. Scott Lemley claims his accuser "lied" about the alleged rape.

David "Scott" Lemley posted a $75,000 bail on Mardi Gras. Lemley is accused of having sex with a 20-year-old woman on several occasions. Arrest records show the woman has medical documentation that shows she has the mental capacity of a seven year old.

"...(she) made some very bold allegations and turned my life upside down," Lemley told News 2.

He maintained his innocence.

"I'm going to fight this all the way," Lemley said.

Arrest records indicate the alleged rapes took place on several occasions at Lemley's residence, which is behind the church at 7340 Antioch Road. According to her father, the 20-year-old victim was staying with her father at Lemley's house. The documents showed the father advised the girl to have sex with the pastor.

Lemley said he couldn't talk about whether the father gave permission for the girl to have sex with him, but also said it never happened. Lemley added that he spoke to his congregation about the arrest.

"I told them I didn't do it," Lemley said. "They know her and know how she is."

Down the street from Lemley's church, neighbors don't know what to think.

"I just can't imagine a man of God doing something that stupid," Melvin Toups said.

Toups says it wasn't unusual to see them outside, and no one had a bad word to say about them.

"Everyone who knew him loved him," Toups said. "He was doing a lot of good for a lot of people."

It's why he is supicious of the allegations.

"I don't picture that man doing something like that," Toups said. "I really don't, but then again, people are people. You never know what they will say or do."

As for the pastor, Lemley said he will keep fighting for justice.

"I don't know why she would do it," Lemley said.

The alleged victim's father is currently in jail, accused of having sex with his own daughter. His identity has not been released to protect his daughter's identity.
