BATON ROUGE- Baton Rouge Police arrested a woman on child cruelty charges after they said she had her naked child outside in the cold, and dropped her on the ground.

Christine Hussey, 31,  faces cruelty to juveniles and multiple drug charges.

On November 22 police responded to a call about two women who appeared to be on drugs hanging outside of a convenience store on O'neal Lane. The caller advised one of the women, later identified as Hussey, had a naked infant.

Witnesses say Hussey dropped the toddler while attempting to run between the convenience store and a nearby Dollar Tree. The baby suffered minor bruises and scrapes.

Upon searching Hussey, officers found she was also in possession of marijuana, three Xanax bars and a small packet of crystal meth. She told officers that all the drugs belonged to her and the other female and admitted to injecting crystal meth shortly before the officers arrived.

Police arrested her on the above charges and booked her into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
