Baton Rouge man sentenced for killing 2
PLAQUEMINE, La. - A Baton Rouge man has been given two life sentences for killing two men in 2012.
Harry Prather was convicted in May. He was sentenced Friday.
31-year-old Prater will serve the life sentences consecutively without parole.
The victims were 38-year-old Ronald A. Harrell of Baton Rouge, and 46-year-old Junius Dedrick of Ventress.
Harrell and Dedrick were found shot to death Sept. 24 inside a vehicle abandoned in a field near the Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy in Plaquemine.
Prosecutors say robbery was the motive in the case. They say the three men had gone out to clubs together the night before the murders, and Dedrick had been flashing a large amount of cash.
