Aircraft plant out for Baton Rouge
WICHITA, KANSAS- Airplane manufacturer Hawker Beechcraft will not move to Baton Rouge.
"Nobody can build aircraft like we can," said a supporter of keeping the company in Kansas during a press conference Tuesday morning.
In the fall, the company was considering a move to the Capitol City after contract negotiations fell through between the company and union representatives.
But, Tuesday morning, the company, the city of Wichita and the state of Kansas announced the groups had reached an agreement to keep the company in the mid-west.
