Baton Rouge DJ remembers Casey Kasem
BATON ROUGE - Former Baton Rouge DJ Scott Innes believes it his job to keep the voice of his mentor, Casey Kasem, alive after Kasem's death over the weekend.
Kasem was a mentor, of sorts, to Innes and the pair also worked together doing voice-acting. Most notably, on Scooby Doo and Shaggy voices for the popular cartoon.
"He pioneered the countdown in 1972," Innes said of Kasem Monday night. "He stepped into doing all these characters for Hanna Barbera. I mean, the world loved Casey Kasem."
Kasem died Sunday. He was 82.
