BATON ROUGE- The Baton Rouge Area Chamber announced today that a new galvanized steel plant was being built in Zachary, bringing new jobs to the area.
The plant, owned by Great Southern Galvanizing, Inc., will employ 60 workers when construction is finished and will increase to 100 workers when it comes fully online within three to five years.
Work has already begun on the 53,000 square-foot plant.
