The Baton Rouge General Medical Center and Tulane University have signed a non-binding letter of intent, exploring how the two together would provide greater educational opportunities.
Officials say adding classes at Tulane's school of medicine could increase the number of physicians in the state.
The discussion is expected to conclude by the end of the year.
