Baserunning blunder proves costly in LSU softball loss
BATON ROUGE - The LSU softball team lost 4-3 to Mississippi State on Sunday, but the Tigers should have had at least one more run in their game at Tiger Park.
In the bottom of the second inning, with a runner on first, Tammy Wray hit a ball over the left field wall, but the would-be home run turned into a run-scoring single with an out as Wray ran past Allison Falcon on the basepath.
Although Falcon's run still counted, Wray was ruled out at first.
LSU had one final chance to tie or take the lead in the bottom of the 7th, but with the bases loaded and just one out, the Tigers struck out twice to end the game.
