Last night was crisp in Detroit as the "other" Tigers hosted the Yankees. The playoffs remind me of the baseball cards we collected and traded as kids. Our dad followed the Pittsburgh Pirates and so did we and the cards provided not only a square of bubble gum but five random cards in the pack. When Dad returned from his Navy service during World War II he was upset to learn that his sisters tossed out his shoe box containing his collection of cards. In the mix were Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth. The 2012 Goodwin Champions are another set of cards for kids. These "Upper Deck" trading cards include a new series, "It Came From Outer Space," featuring actual meteorite fragments embedded into the trading card.
