BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE - Airman Alec M. Dye who has been deployed to Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, is currently considered missing after last being seen Monday.

In a news release Wednesday, Barksdale Air Force Base said Dye is a member of the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at the north Louisiana military base. The Times reports the 24-year-old airman is from Mooresville, Indiana.

Authorities say Dye was last seen near Tarague Beach. It was unclear what he was doing there before his disappearance.

The Guam Police Department Marine Unit, U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two-Five, Guam Fire Rescue and U.S. Coast Guard units are searching in and around the area on land and sea.

The search is set to continue.
