Bar hours ordinance pulled at Metro Council
BATON ROUGE - Tonight's Metro Council meeting in East Baton Rouge Parish opened with a council member pulling his ordinance to extend bar hours to 4 a.m.
Ulysses "Bones" Addison said the parish attorney's office had asked him to delete the item, which had drawn a number of public comments for and against it in previous meetings.
Another amended proposal to allow bars to open on Sundays from Council Alison Gray is still being brought up for consideration.
Addison's ordinance would have required bars to get a permit which cost $4,000, and he said would have helped pay for more enforcement officers in the Alcohol Beverage Control office.
