Bank robbery suspect arrested at airport
METAIRIE - Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies say a man returning to the area was arrested at Louis Armstrong International Airport for a Metairie bank robbery earlier in April.
The Times-Picayune reports 33-year-old Bruce Padilla was booked Monday for a bank robbery on April 12.
Col. John Fortunato says authorities caught Padilla at the airport as he was returning to the area and he confessed to committing the robbery.
He was booked with one count of armed robbery.
It was unclear whether Padilla has an attorney.
