Bama takes lead with two scores, 17-7
TUSCALOOSA- The Crimson Tide woke up in the 2nd quarter to regain the lead against LSU after two touchdown drives leading the Tigers, 17-7.
AJ McCarron became Alanbama's all-time passing yards leader during his 80-yard drive, culminating with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Norwood. He now holds the school record with 7,947 passing yards.
LSU's seemingly stout defense in the first quarter failed to show up in the 2nd, allowing a 52-yard touchdown to freshman tight end OJ Howard, before the Norwood score.
After an 8-yard sack delivered by LSU's Jermauria Rasco, it seemed AJ McCarron was rattled by LSU's defense, but a pass interference call kept the drive alive.
That gave McCarron the chance to find his Freshman tight end O.J. Howard in wide open space for the score.
The Tide have now found their footing in Bryant-Denny Stadium, it's up to LSU to match them on offense if they hope to win.
