BAKER - The Department of Health and Hospitals cited Baker Middle School after an inspection revealed deplorable conditions in its restrooms.
The problems included broken toilets, doors in need of repair, and the 50-year-old building itself not being clean.
Superintendent Ulysses Joseph says they're working on the problems and it's not as bad as health officials are making it out to be.
"Things are well and good here in the Baker School System. Anytime we have anything broken, we fix it," he said.
According to DHH, Louisiana's schools are inspected twice a year. If a citation is issued the district has eight days to fix the problem, otherwise it could face disciplinary actions from the state.
