Baker man accused of raping a 4-year-old child
BAKER – A Baker man was arrested Monday after police say he raped a 4-year-old child in April.
Michael Lee Matthews, 32, was charged with aggravated rape and sexual battery. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Monday.
According to court documents, the crime happened sometime between April 3 to April 19. The victim’s father told Baker Police that he returned from a trip and the child mentioned activity involving a penis. The child later told the father that Matthews “had committed an act or sexual battery and subsequently rape,” documents say.
The child told detectives that the attack happened in his mother’s bedroom while she was asleep.
On April 26, the victim and the father positively identified Matthews as the attacker using a DMV photograph.
