Babysitter arrested, charged with kidnapping baby
NEW ORLEANS - A missing 5-week-old baby boy has been found with deputies arresting his babysitter early Sunday morning.
The St. Bernard Sheriff's Department charged 47-year-old, Sarah Harris with aggravated kidnapping after she disappeared with baby Tristan Cayden Douglas around noon on Friday. Police report the baby's mother said the two never came home after Harris told her they were on their way to a convenience store in New Orleans.
Deputies found the baby and Harris walking on a street in New Orleans East around 7:30 a.m
Troopers say Baby Tristan is safe. The baby was brought to New Orleans Children's Hospital where he was examined and reported to be in good health.
Deputies at the St. Bernard Sheriff's Department say an investigation is ongoing.
