Baby goat beheaded; head, twin taken from New Orleans park
NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says a baby goat was beheaded and its head and the goat's twin brother taken from a New Orleans park.
The SPCA is offering $1,000 for information leading to conviction of the person responsible.
Morgana King says she'd rather think dogs or coyotes killed the 3-month-old pygmy goat, and took its twin. King owns a company that lends out goats to eat weeds and grass.
The goat's body was found Thursday at Brechtel Park on New Orleans' west bank, where a small number of goats were penned.
SPCA spokeswoman Alicia Haefele (HAY-fuh-lee) says King's husband, Michael King, told investigators the culprits might be teenagers he argued with over the weekend because they were trying to "mess with the goats."
