Average airfare up a buck
WASHINGTON- The average price of a domestic airfare was $1 higher last year than in 2012.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says the average fare for travel in the U.S. was about $301 with the highest fares in Huntsville, Alabama at $528 and the lowest in Long Beach, California at $249.
Taxes are included but not the extras, like checked baggage fees.
The figures mostly count round-trip tickets but about a quarter of them are one-way.
