Authorities to address Vermilion Parish deputy shooting
ABBEVILLE - State Police and the Vermillion Parish Sheriff's Office announced a press conference to be held today at 1 p.m. following the shooting death of a Vermillion Parish Sheriff's deputy on Monday.
Deputy Allen Bares Jr. witnessed suspicious activity in the Abbeville neighborhood where he was mowing grass on his off day, called authorities to report the activity and was later found shot dead.
Two suspects in the shooting, 19-year-old Baylon Taylor and 20-year-old Quintylan Richard, were arrested early Tuesday morning and remain in custody, according to law enforcement.
