Authorities search for missing child in Harvey
HARVEY, La. - Louisiana authorities are searching for a missing 6-year-old girl reported missing by her mother.
A news release from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says Ahitta North was reported missing Saturday morning from her apartment in Harvey.
Authorities say the mother told police that she and her daughter went to sleep Friday night and when the mother woke up Saturday morning, the child was gone.
Authorities say the front door of the apartment was open and there were no signs of forced entry.
Detectives also determined that several personal items belonging to the child were also missing.
