Authorities report horses hit on highways
LIVINGSTON- Emergency responders worked two crash scenes involving horses on highways Tuesday night.
The first, on Hwy. 42 near Hwy. 63, killed a horse and injured the person driving a vehicle that was involved in the wreck.
Shortly after that incident, Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies used social media to alert drivers about another scene where a horse was apparently hit on a highway. It was on Springfield Rd (LA Hwy. 1019) near Perkins Rd.
In both situations, roads were blocked.
As of this post, Hwy. 42 was open to traffic and a crew was set to clear the horse from the highway.
Details about the scene on Hwy. 1019 were not immediately available.
