Authorities looking for answers in Gonzales murders

GONZALES - Authorities continued their search for the people who killed two and injured a third in Gonzales this weekend, making off with a safe full of valuable coins.

Robert Marchand and his stepson Douglas Dooley were killed in their home Saturday night. Robert's wife, Shirley, was injured and is still in very bad shape according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office. 

Investigators said intruders attacked the family and slit their throats.  They believe robbery was the motive for the attacks, since a safe holding a coin collection worth an estimated half-million dollars is missing.
