ST. GABRIEL - Sheriff's deputies said they're assisting with a shooting investigation in the city limits of St. Gabriel Monday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said shots were fired at two different times during the day, and St. Gabriel Police initially handled the investigation.

Nobody has been reported injured in the shooting, according to the sheriff's office.

Sources tell News 2 the shooting may be connected to an investigation into a deadly shooting this past May which involved the St. Gabriel Police chief's son, Kevin Ambeau Jr. Investigators said Ambeau shot and killed two people,Rove Lodge and Dominique Dunbar, on Mother's Day after a fight.

Investigators arrested Ambeau Jr. for a weapons charge after they said a stolen gun was found in his trailer, but a grand jury chose not to indict him on the shooting charge.
