ASSUMPTION PARISH- Deputies from the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office charged 10 people in connection with an ongoing narcotics distribution investigation.

Nine of the suspects charged have been arrested, while narcotics agents continue to search for the tenth.

Authorities said narcotics agents, uniformed deputies, and S.W.A.T personnel began making arrests early Monday morning as a result of operation "Gobble Gobble." The investigation has spanned over the last several months, according to authorities.

Those arrested include:

-Brandon Harris, 33, one count of distribution of marijuana. Harris was already in jail on multiple drug and firearms charges.

-Kyren Smith, 21, distribution of methamphetamine, resisting an officer and failure to appear.

-Matthew Elkins, 31, one count of distribution of alprazolam. Elkins is a prior convicted felon.

-Gavin Bell, 21, one count of distribution of marijuana.

-Theresa Furnish, 52, distribution of methamphetamine. A search incidental to arrest and consent yielded quantities of the prescription drug suboxone and methamphetamine. Furnish was also charged with possession with intent to distribute suboxone and possession, intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute alprazolam.

-Wade Paul Rives, 35, one count distribution of methamphetamine. A search warrant executed on Rives’ home noted additional quantities of suboxone, marijuana and assorted paraphernalia. Rives was additionally charged with possession of suboxone, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-Dontrell Landry. 37, distribution of heroin. A search warrant was executed on Landry’s home and agents seized a quantity of synthetic marijuana and paraphernalia. Landry was also booked on counts of possession of cannabinoids (synthetic marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Landry was out on bond on prior felony charges.

-Steven Carcisse, 32, distribution of cocaine. A search warrant was executed at Carcisse’s home and agents seized quantities of marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia. Carcisse was booked on additional charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. At the time of this arrest, Carcisse was out on bond for prior felony counts.

-Terrance McBride, 29, distribution of crack cocaine. McBride was out on bond on unrelated felony charges.

The above suspects have been book into the Assumption Parish Detention Center awaiting bail proceedings.

Agents are attempting to locate and arrest Chasity Richard, 33, for distribution of alprazolam.
