Authorities accused of letting priest flee
PHILADELPHIA- A lawsuit accuses church and local authorities of letting a Philadelphia-area priest flee to Poland during a sex-abuse investigation that stalled. The suit says the priest assaulted a woman last year while he was counseling her. The priest is not named because he could not be reached for comment. He belongs to the Pauline Fathers, a religious order and the Pauline supervisors were said to be "in prayer" and were not available for comment. The suit alleges the Bucks County prosecutor and officials of the Philadelphia archdiocese of failing to pursue the complaint, which allowed the priest to flee the country.
